When I started this project/ challenge I was a tad timid because of my lack of skills with an HTML editor. In the past I have used different Editors to build web pages, that where very simple. However I have a copy of Dreamweaver, and this was the perfect time for me to Learn, and adapt from my previous coding experiences.

I am pretty comfortable with Dreamweaver now, and have cut the time to make a page and on site SEO from about 4 hours to about 1 hour. Getting the Old dog (40 - LOL) to try something new is always a challenge, but I am glad I did.

Before I started any of the sites, I did some research. I looked at the content I had in stock and on Websitemonthly. I researched the keywords using www.nichebot.com for a quick look at the overture and word tracker aspects of the keywords. I determined if the keyword was a able to be attacked from an SEO standpoint.

For any efforts you want a Keyword that is searched a larger amount to make it worth your while, but have significant SEO weaknesses to beable to exploit the top 10-20 ranking positons over time. Looking at the data form Nichbot, I look for mainly the number of backlinks of the first 15-20 positions in Google. If the keyword term has 1000's upon 1000's in the top 15-20 positions, then I try to stay away from that term. If their are significant weakness in the ranks for terms with only a few 100 backlinks than I know in 3-6 months I can surpass those ranking urls, with my on-site SEO and Backlinking strategy using Blogs posts, and Article submissions.

When I evaluate a site, I look for allinanchor, allintitle, allintext and allinurl. These are commands in google just like Site: and Link: All you do is type in the command followed by the : and the keyword(s) of choice. For example allinanchor:keyword

When I look at the allin factors I compare them to the Actual Google SE ranks, to determine any and all weakness.

For this contest / challenge I know my immediate success will come via MSN, and then after 6 months be overtaken by Yahoo and Google Search Resepectively. I am Using Google SEO tactics for the long haul, but will experience a decent little return from MSN clicks while I am sandboxed in Google.

Again my terms are Mainstream sites and Not IM related. I use my IM knowledge and SEO technigues to produce Main stream Search Engine reguested information type sites.
