I’m asking for your input here folks. BS3 is out and it’s the BEST version of blog solution ever released. What resources would you like to see from Website Monthly? Are you using it? Are you planning to get it?
Leave me a comment here (see up top there where it says “comments” – just click it and tell me what you would like to see us make (if anything) in regards to Blogsolutions. I’m using it regularly and it’s a pretty big part of our income and linking methods now… mainly because it works.
If your using it – you probably would like keyword lists, templates, or maybe hosting resources. Just speak up!

Hi Ed,
I didn’t know that BS3 is already out. I didn’t get a info about it yet as a current customer.
I think for most bs customers it would be most important to get new templates that they can make their new sites unique or Google etc would find footprints easier and penalize websites.
Thanks.
Dirk
Yes any help eith bs would be helpful especially about proxies and templates
Templates are definately needed by me.
Jean
In my case templates would be the most useful.
Juan
I prefer templates for my bs.
O.K. – Templates seem to be needed by all of you
— What about hosting though? Seems to be a small technical barrier with that I would imagine.
Personally what we do is purchase a single VPS, set it up to run about 15 sites, enact the wildcard subdomain, etc..
When I buy the VPS I fork over a little more for extra IP address’s.
What are you doing? How many bs sites do YOU have up?
I guess I’m just trying to figure out if we have 5 people that own Blog Solutions – and only 3 using it
– or if there is a higher number that just aren’t talking, don’t have it running because of hosting, etc…
Templates would certainly be good….
And another one: what I would like is a really sound tutorial on how to convert a blogger template (or a wordpress one – spliced together) into a bs template.
i.e. pdf and/or video showing tips on quick conversion and use of tokens, maybe with a reference table showing what tokens are directly replaceable between systems.
And finally: would be good to leverage websitemonthly members bs networks. Maybe some arrangement on how to link each others mini networks together, or distribute links. This one isn’t so well though through…
Stephen,
I’m actually struggling with the whole bs template issue. I bought some that i’m not happy with and even after lot’s of changes I’m still not happy
As soon as I get a good template structure down, I’ll break that down in a video for you guys and gals.
I even like the idea of distributing links, but I would warn against it. Any time you use an automated tool you really don’t want to share the links with others.
Looking forward to it Ed
BTW, there is a new halfagain product to be launched soon that may complement tbs nicely: rss magician
Looks interesting, and a good price too if what I’ve seen so far is correct. I’m sure you can work out the url to take an advance peek.
I already have Stephen. Thanks for mentioning it though. It’s very similar to what you can do with RSS REBOUND inside website monthly. I’m not sure if it’s better or worse and probably won’t buy it
I happen to use Rss rebound daily, and I’m a creature of habit.
Must take a look in more depth at what I have in the membership package. Downloaded RSS Rebound, but never really examined it – you may well have just saved me some money. Thanks!
Ed
After these posts – i am inclined to buy it. What bothers me is the hosting and the templates part of it from what i can make from the above comments.
Karthek
Karthek,
I’ve found a pretty decent way of doing things. I use the default templates, and add in a few minor changes. I have a VPS account at http://myriadnetwork.com/.
(I DON’T RECOMMEND THIS IF YOU CAN”T MANAGE A SERVER). If you can’t manage your own server there are a number of other alternatives like a small managed Dedicated, or a managed VPS from another company.
*VPS = Virtual Private Server*
We are not aggressive with using Blog Solutions, but we see steady traffic and indexing.
I’ll tell you – I am going nuts trying to make custom templates, and I haven’t found anyone to make them “good” yet. I’m working on it though. I think it will make a nice addition to Website Monthly.
Ed
Thanks for the tip off about the server issue. You mentioned “small managed Dedicated , or a managed VPS from another company” . Can you explain more and recommend a host for this.
Thanks
Karthek
P.s – some more about info about extra IP address would also help.
I bought BS3 when you guys were promoting it although I haven’t started using it yet I’ve read Omar’s Blueprint.
I know there are many traing videos up at their site but it looks to be quite a learning curve to me (for me), and a quick “fast tract” tutorial might help.
And templates are one of the things that has me procrastinating the use of bs but I do have it installed on one domain, just not active yet.
Also, what do you think about aplus.net for dedicated servers?
I look forward to whatever you offer for bs.
Thanks,
Mike
Mike,
We’ve been running bs on a VPS from myriad networks. I’m not willing to put any sort of page generated sites on a dedicated if I can help it – and a VPS is a great cheaper alternative.
I’ll be honest – I’ve been struggling with the templates myself and I’m pretty proficient. I was hoping to make everyone some nice templates and put them in the members area – but it’s beyond me.
It’s also been beyond the two people I’ve hired
However, if you go into the bs forum there are plenty of folks selling templates and that’s the route I eventually gave up and went with.
If you are looking for a hosting site, I use ixwebhosting.com. They give you a lot of space if you opt for the business plus plan. There is also a higher one. But one of the benefits is you get 8 Dedicated IP Addresses, and you can host unlimited domains and subdomains. Just set them up as shared hosting. And since you get 500 GB (Not a typo) of space. And 3500 GB bandwidth for a low price. I pay $30 every 3 months. It does not use cpanel, but if you know your way around cpanel, it is similar. Don’t mean to go on about them, but I think their services and prices are great. Check it out for yourselves.
