If you surf the net much I’m sure you have come across a “Registry Cleaner” by now.  These tools (software or web based) scan your computer’s registry and find corrupted, outdated, and unused registry files.  This seems like it could be the answer to your PC’s performance problems and of course whoever is hawking the service swears by it right?

In most cases, whoever is recommending the service or software is an affiliate and they will benefit financially from your use of it (even if it’s free).

I’ve just spent 2 hours surfing trying to find a “good” one that is endorsed by real PC experts.  Sorry to say that apparently there isn’t one out there.  There is however, a lot of knowledgeable people saying to NEVER USE THEM.  That’s enough for me until I hear otherwise.
