I opened my mail today and just about had a small heart attack. Staring me in the face was was an e-mail telling me I just “HAD” to get this new CMS (content management system). O.K. – I’ll look at anything once at least. When I opened the page I knew I wasn’t interested at all – but a lot of others are going to be “sucked” into the vortex of “you have to have this to make money”.
Look a Content Management system is just a way to manage a website. There aren’t any magic pills. Want the extra features that this MME3 thing has? Check out the extensions for JOOMLA. It’s free – and so are most of the plug ins and extensions.
Want a storefront? It’s free and avail.
Want a subscription Model? It’s free and avail.
Want a membership site? It’s a free plug in.
Get my point? Before you spend 1k – see if there is a better alternative. BTW – JOOMLA has been around a long time. It’s stable and it’s open source so there are always things being added to it. Unless you are going enterprise level you don’t need anything more – and if you do there are thousands of programmers capable of adding it into Joomla.
