Where is your plan and direction?

On February 27, 2007, in Action Plans, Concepts, by Ed

I’ve got this title at the top of a word document. It might end up an article, it might end up a pdf report, it might go inside Other98percent.com – who knows.  Kind of ironic when you think about it. I’m writing about planning and I don’t have a plan of my own.

This is just one small little report though – imagine how bad the end result would be if my entire ‘internet business’ didn’t have a plan.  Imagine if I was lacking some basic webmaster skills, basic marketing knowledge, and DIRECTION both?

So I closed the word document and figured this was a great place to just sorta ramble a bit and get my head in order.  You see when I started doing this “internet marketing” stuff it was a different world.  I made a killing as an affiliate for this software that send mass mailings out from your pc.  It was nuts, I just posted to FFA sites, ran a FFA site of my own and made literally 10′s of thousands on one program and one concept.

I didn’t have a plan…. I just sorta fell into it.  When the internet changed and spam was an actual problem my income started to go down.  Before I knew it it was all gone.

Then I somehow or another stumbled into the traffic exchange world. I did pretty well for some time.  However, I again didn’t have a concrete plan and watched my newfound income dwindle.  Time after time my income was dependent on other people. I advertised affiliate programs directly. When they folded all my effort was wasted.

There isn’t a big secret – my income didn’t stabilize until I started each day with a plan that lead to my ultimate goal. In my case it’s a mix of real word (other 98 percent concepts) websites and internet marketing related websites.

My income is stable, I know there is food on the table, etc..  It all changed when I made a plan and stuck to it.  When I stopped chasing every fad, and just built good stuff.

So while I figure out my ‘plan’ for this little report – why don’t you figure out YOUR plan.

This is so true and such a powerful element of business, fitness and any other goal we want to be successful at.

It’s so true. You cannot become a success online without a business-plan and be committed to follow the plan.
