It’s All In The List – Top 3 Reasons Why You Should Be Building Your List Now!
For many people who come into internet marketing the last thing that they want to start concentrating on is list building. The thought of making money from a 10,000 strong responsive list is simply alien and too far off in the distance.
This is one of the biggest mistakes that any internet marketer can make. If they stick around long enough in this fickle world they soon learn the error of their ways and realize that their efforts could have been quadrupled if only they had concentrated on building their list at the beginning.
Anyone who is serious about making money online should be thinking about building their lists from the beginning of their marketing efforts. It really doesn’t need to be difficult to get a buying list at your disposal if you do it right.
Here are the top three reasons why you SHOULD be building your list right now.
1. You can keep in contact with the people who are interested in your niche or market. In doing this you have a group of people all in one place that are already interested in what you are selling or they wouldn’t have signed up to it in the first place.
2. You have probably already spent a lot of time and effort in getting visitors to your site, some that arrive there will only be at the “information†stage of their buying experience. There are three stages to making a purchase – gain information, research prices and then make the purchase. So when someone lands at your site in the information stage you might think that they are not worth bothering with. Wrong. Collect their names and email addresses and you can keep in contact with them and ‘sell’ to them when they are ready.
3. Building a list is not all about selling something to the reader. It’s about gaining their trust before they make the purchase. Any good list builder will tell you that they spent time ‘giving’ their readers quality information before they started to sell to them. By giving the reader exceptional value and quality information they learn to build up a relationship with you. Next time you tell them that they must have something – they want it, they believe you, they trust you.
Spending time at the beginning of your marketing career will certainly stop you kicking yourself 6 months to a year down the line. The average worth of a list is $1 per month per person, so spending the time building a buying list will greatly benefit you in the long run.

Ok, I agree it is a network that is benefits all. We have info to share and people are looking.
How do you build that list?
I always enjoy your info, keep on sharing!

Rod,
I build lists in a few different ways. Here they are in a nutshell:
1.) Free sites like other98percent.com. Folks sign up – I keep giving them good ideas and advice along with the tools and services they can use to capitalize of those ideas. I don’t plug every thing to come around… and stick to a 95% “tool” basis. It’s just my preference of course. Others suggest mailing the crap out of folks. I don’t.
2.) Free Stuff – Like downloads, etc… These freebie seekers are worthless compared to the 0-98 list. I don’t do a whole lot here except talk to them about our other sites and services. I’ve found that even with 15k on the list the conversion is really bad.
Probably my fault as I don’t spend time on education.
3.) Past customers. These are the best lists if you take care of them. I’m sure you have noticed that we rarely put out stuff on our lists of customers. These lists are used for upsells, and in general helping them get the most out of whatever service or product they offered.
4.) Just putting a box up on the site. Blackhat-whitehat.com is an example.
Thanks good answer
